I’m going to go ahead and admit that I completely slept on the news of the formation of Psychic Dancehall, a new band based out of San Diego comprised of Chuck Rowell of Crocodiles and Hollie Cook of legendary punk band The Slits (what a combination). What I missed out on is the duo’s first offering “A Love That Kills”, which is a haunting piece that plays tribute to the most eeriest moments of Joy Division, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Suicide.
“A Love That Kills” is the A-side of their recent Art Fag released 7”. Be on the lookout for their debut LP Dreamers to be released July 26th.
It’s been a little over a year since Dum Dum Girls released their debut LP I Will Be. Since then, DDG have released a handful of singles and this year’s EP He Gets Me High, which took the band’s sound in a whole new direction. Leaving no time for a break, DDG have announced their sophomore LP Only In Dreams, which will be released September 27th on Sub Pop Records.
Dishing out tons of records isn’t the only thing DDG is known for. They have been on tour constantly and have announced their upcoming tour dates with Crocodiles, Royal Baths and Collen Green. Check out the dates after the jump.
