Guest Mix: Windian Records

During 2011, Windian Records came out with a whole slew of great records, including White Faces’ self -titled LP, a Penetrators reissue, and Mondo Ray’s Hypnotized. They also took some time out to make us a guest mix that’s fueled by some punk fury, overlooked gems from Milwaukee and some disgustingly good guitar riffs. Nowhere Clown - White Faces
Another Milwaukee band. I think there is something in the stale beer up there. Pretty much the only band in years that got my immediate attention. Skilled song writing, A+ players. 

Nightmares - The Doozies
I’m really stoked on these kids. I love a good pop song, especially one that sounds like it was written inside of a trash can. DC! 

5000 Watts - Suns of Guns
Washing DC power stoners [? I think I just coined a new sub-sub genre] that rely heavy on the groove and heavy on the hit. Slick, yet edgy. 

Action - Beehive & the Barracudas 
Keep it weird. 

Don’t Let Deth Get In The Way - Spider Fever
This is what I like my rock and roll to sound like. To the point. Killer singles on Hozac and Cave Punk. 

Let’s Get Zooed Out - Testors
Sonny Vincent. Enough said. 

Young GIrls At Market - Bizarros
Akron Ohio post punkers. This track was released on a highly rare, highly awesome LP in 1979. Sneak peak in to the collection we are putting together. 

Drunk & Disorderly - The Shirkers
One of the better DC “punk bands” that did not get enough credit. Released on the very awesome DC imprint Limp Records in 1978. The B-side, “Suicide” contains one of the cooler riffs you’ve never heard.
